Martina Spiritová (1977) is a graduate of the Philosophical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague. She studied to become a choirmaster at the Pedagogical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague under prof. Miroslav Košler. During her studies she cooperated with the DPS Rolnička Praha, she was a member of the mixed chamber choir Pražští Pěvci. Starting 1997 she led a mixed choir at the Libeňský zámeček Secondary School in Prague, in 2002 she was a substitute choirmaster of the women’s choir at the Deutsche Schule in Prague. Apart from being a choirmaster, she is also a singer, a teacher and an organizer of musical events. She is currently a choirmaster of the mixed choir Musica Oeconomica Pragensis at the University of Economics in Prague (the second choirmaster being her husband Kryštof Spirit), the choirmaster of the mixed chamber choir VOKS and the young choir GJP Voices at the Jan Palach Secondary School in Prague. With her choirs, she performs at concerts and at festivals of music, and makes recordings. The choirs under her leadership placed among the best at several choir competitions both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
